Testing and release readiness
What must be checked before Eden OS is offered to other families.
Current release status
Eden OS is a development prototype. There is no public installer download yet. The web playroom is a simplified demonstration, not the complete operating system or a finished mobile app.
Before an early testing release
- Startup and recovery: confirm the operating system boots reliably, can recover from failures and shuts down safely.
- Activities: verify each activity opens, closes, saves progress where expected and handles unexpected input.
- Accessibility: test keyboard, mouse, touch where supported, larger text, read-aloud and predictable navigation.
- Parent settings: check that children cannot easily bypass intended browsing or settings restrictions.
- Hardware: record supported devices, performance and installation requirements after real testing.
- Installation: test the installer on a spare machine, including backups, disk selection and recovery instructions.
- Privacy: check what information stays on-device and what is sent online.
- Guides: write simple setup, troubleshooting, uninstall and feedback instructions for parents.
Early family testing
Interest registration is not an account or invitation. There is no automated email confirmation, tester dashboard or device-matching system yet. We will announce any approved testing process before invitations begin.
We plan to invite a small group of families only after a stable baseline passes testing. Registration of interest does not guarantee access or an invitation date.
